La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation Charter Formation       
Museum of Contemporary Art La Jolla, September 14, 2007  4 P.M.    

The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation announces the formation of its non-profit Charter at the historical site of Miss Ellen Browning Scripps former home, the Museum of Contemporary Art in La Jolla, California at 4 PM, on Friday, September 14, 2007. The reception is a private event open to the media.

The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation is being led by an international leadership team of Dianne York- Goldman, of La Jolla SpaMD as the Foundation’s Founding President, and Isabell Kristensen, a renowned fashion designer from the Principality of Monaco, as the Foundation’s Founding Vice President, (Europe).

Saturday September 15th marks the 2nd Annual fashion show held at the Estancia Hotel in La Jolla to benefit a cure for woman’s cancer co-chaired by Dianne York-Goldman and Isabell Kristensen. The Foundation leadership is joined by it’s Honorary Chairman Max Gurney Honorary Consul of Monaco (Ret.). Max Gurney served the Principality for over 30 years during the tenure of HSH Prince Ranier of Monaco and his late wife Kay Gurney was a long term associate of HSH Princess Grace of Monaco. Also joining the team as the Foundation Vice President, USA is Capt Ed Sullivan, who along with his colleague on the La Jolla Town Council Dianne York-Goldman initiated the La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange with the Parliament of Monaco.

The foundation in its charter seeks to recognize the founding at the turn of the 19th Century the world’s 1st two oceanographic institutions, Scripps Institution of Oceanography by Miss Ellen Browning Scripps in LaJolla,, and the Musee’ Oceanographqiue de Monaco by HSH Prince Albert I, in the Principality of Monaco.

In addition the Foundation wishes to recognize the contribution to the world of fashion and art to society by HSH Princess Grace of Monaco, and her friend Mrs. Kay Gurney of Monaco and La Jolla. The Foundation seeks to carry on a rich tradition of the promotion of fashion and art to the fabric of society.

The Foundation was inspired by the leadership of HSH Prince Albert II in his April 2006 expedition to the North Pole to raise awareness to the dangers of climate change and global warming. The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation is committed to the principle’s and ideals of the 2006 Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation to promote sustainable and equitable management of our natural resources. Hence, the Foundation’s motto summarizes its goals of “Sharing Ocean Knowledge & Promotion of Fashion and Art.”

The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation has scheduled a fashion show of the latest couture designs by Monaco’s Isabell Kristensen, chaired by Dianne York-Goldman of La Jolla SpaMD, at the Estancia La Jolla Hotel 9700 North Torrey Pines Road, La Jolla, on Saturday September 15, 2007 at 6:30 P.M, to benefit the Susan G. Komen for the Cure’s vision of a world without breast cancer. For ticket information call (858) 573-2760.

The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange Foundation will convene its European exchange with a November 2, 2007 visit to Dijon, France to open the wine season, by attending the elegant black tie gala “Gout et Gastronomie” at the 400 year old Chateau Clos de Vougeot in the center of France’s world famous wine country. The La Jolla Monaco Cultural Exchange members will then travel to Monaco convening cultural exchange meetings from November 5th through November 8th with the Director of Cultural Affairs at Monaco’s new National Art Museum, meetings with Prof. Jean Jaubert, Director, of the Oceanographique de Monaco, and hold a private reception with Hon. Bernard Fautrier, President & CEO of the HSH Prince Albert II Foundation.
