International
Haute Couture Designer Makes U.S. Debut in La Jolla, California
Isabell Kristensen Presents an Evening
of Fashion and Beauty to Benefit the National Ovarian Cancer
Coalition
LA JOLLA (August 17, 2006)-In an exclusive engagement presented by
the La
Jolla Monaco Cultural Committee, design sensation Isabell Kristensen
will
premiere her collection of world famous haute couture for the first
time in
the United States. Kristensen is a key player in the fashion industry
with
retail stores in Monaco and London, and her sophisticated designs have
regularly graced the pages of Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan and Harper's
Bazaar.
She has dressed and designed pieces for some of fashion's most
reputable
style icons including Nicole Kidman, Helena Christensen, Jerry Hall,
Kate
Moss, Liza Minnelli and Ivana Trump.
The black tie affair will kick off with a cocktail hour at 6pm on
September
8, 2006 at the elegant La Jolla Ballroom in the Estancia Hotel.
Society's
finest will be in attendance for a formal dinner and runway fashion
show
featuring a magnificent and visually stunning collection of
Kristensen's
famous haute couture collection. The event is chaired by Dianne
York-Goldman, CEO of America's leading Medical Spa, La Jolla Spa MD.
All
proceeds will benefit the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition in honor
of
former La Jolla Spa MD Employee and Honorary Chair, Stephanie Strauss
who
was diagnosed with ovarian cancer in the fall of 2005.
York-Goldman first met Isabell Kristensen during a recent trip to
Monaco and
was immediately taken with her designs. "Isabell is well respected
in the
fashion industry and I knew La Jolla would be a fabulous location to
debut
her collection in the United States," said York-Goldman. "When I
invited
her, she agreed upon the condition that proceeds would benefit a
worthy
cause-- I immediately thought of the National Ovarian Cancer
Coalition and
one of our own, Stephanie Strauss."
The event coincides with National Ovarian Cancer Awareness Month,
which
falls each September. Ovarian cancer continues to cause more deaths
than any
other cancer of the female reproductive system. It is estimated that
this
year alone, more than 20,000 women in the United States will be
diagnosed
with ovarian cancer, and that almost 15,000 women will die from this
disease.
Tickets are available for $150 per person. Checks should be made to
the
National Ovarian Cancer Coalition (NOCC) and mailed to La Jolla Spa
MD, 7630
Fay Ave, La Jolla CA 92037. For more information please call
